Stagnant and sudden water brings out certain zones more than others as a result of our reaction to rain or water logging. It changes the way we experience certain spaces and neglect others. We find refuge and tend to choose particular paths because of different reasons, habit, comfort, structural factors or material. This mapping presents a collection of these common quick decisions we make and shows how people on CEPT campus move around to experience rain and its left overs.
Follow the Path
a speculaative intervention
Pit stops for the train to halt at keeping in mind the most commonly used path through the faculty buildings inside the campus.
The routes to be followed by the train through the campus, along identified landmarks
the path is designed along major landmarks to cater for seamless connectivity throughout campus
A mobile refuge, designed to function on the principles of magnetic levitation. With number of such modules deployed, movement through the campus will become convenient during monsoons without being hindered by water logged puddles. This deploy-able structure can expand to accommodate up to 6 people at a time. The stationary module can expand to give more shade.
